EXIT THE SILENT KILLER.......

I’ve always admired the black beauties…. but I got a silver one instead purely because I’m a “lazy bugger”. You’d need time and patience to keep a black beauty in mint condition regardless. I have neither.

I’ve always been happy with my silent bike. I’d be happier though if it could be spiced up a bit – in terms of appearance. My FJR1300 looks very dependable and sturdy – nothing exciting in the least….

Then one day Ricardo saw Bud’s FJR exhausts and went on and on about them. So I gave in and said “yes” to having mine equipped with the Black Series of the Two Brothers exhaust. Before I could change my mind he had placed the order via good ole Bud!!

On December 22, 2010 the shipment arrived at LCCT Sepang. I was up to my ears with work and couldn’t make time to go attend to customs clearance. In fact I was on my way to Sungai Petani Kedah as I had to attend Kumpulaniaga Mahmud Taib Sdn Bhd’s company dinner. I couldn’t wangle my way out of this dinner as my staff would all be affected – I’m the Skipper you see :)

Then it was Christmas holidays. Then it was the New Year holidays…. Ricardo was practically nagging my ears off as to when I could arrange for the customs clearance of the much awaited merchandise.

Finally yesterday evening, Ricardo went to pick the gleaming Black Series up and brought it home for me to marvel at – thank goodness the workshop was already closed otherwise he’d have camped there.

This morning Jan 5, 2011, I was late to work because I had to send the Black Series exhausts to be fixed onto my bike. Ricardo wasn’t going anywhere until Ah Choo and gang finished what he set out to monitor!! Poor Ah Choo and gang……

After lunch Ricardo called me to say all’s well and let me hear the vrooming racing sound.

There's not much difference in the 'looks' department though..... but like Griffin said, the sound is much more 'fun'. I sure am looking forward to comments from friends who are used to my silent ways......;)

I'm definitely gonna try it out before I go to bed tonight!!!!

  3. Difficult to say . Sometimes if you take the muffler out the sound is louder and if it is in the sound is less. If you are not used to or cannot 'tahan' loud noise it may cause headaches(or it just could be the heat or anything else) .Check on the muffler and try riding with ear plugs and see if it makes a difference.
    Good luck.
